I bought this machine less than 1.5 years ago and I make less than 7 cups of coffee a WEEK. you all, you have a cheap device on your kitchen table (see picture). This does not mean that this item can be washed in the dishwasher or needs to be cleaned. Think about it - if their label doesn't last 15 months - how cheaply is the rest of the device made? Well, to give you a hint - the block isn't just plastic - it's cheap plastic. A tube of toothpaste probably weighs more than the whole block. It doesn't have a timer or auto shut off, so your heating element will still run once the water is out of the tank (which I see as a potential fire hazard). The power button lights up when it's on (a good thing), but it's on the left side -- all the way back -- so it's not easy to tell if the device is on or off. Bad design, IMHO, especially since there's no auto shutoff. The unit arrived without a manual so I emailed the company asking about the service. I didn't get an answer. If you drink more than 7 cups of coffee a week, I'd suggest you keep a guarantee handy (and you'll have better luck than me if they answer). And - IF you decide to purchase - once the unit arrives, try contacting the "Customer Service" department. If they don't answer, send him back to Revain while you can.
