Not as smooth as stone but cuts better
Although the grit is not as smooth as stone, it cuts much better and removes metal much faster. The only disadvantage of uneven grit is that when polishing the blade it becomes difficult to get rid of the previous grit lines. Also if you have M390/204P/20CV, S90V, S110V or other carbide blades these stones are a blessing.
