Review on Ultrathick All-Weather Foam Sleeping Pad With Pillow For Backpacking, Traveling, And Hiking - Fast Air Self-Inflating Insulated Mattress - Durable Camping Mat In Green (3 Inches) by Mike Stevenson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Comfortable on my review.

This is not a light weight sleeping mat, it does not compress to something that you’d throw in a backpack. However it’s extremely comfortable, I’ve had back surgery and I can sleep on the mat with no pain or stiffness the next day, I can even sleep on my side. I’ve used it in winter and summer and had no temperature problems. I would recommend a sheet over it for comfort. I wish I could find something like this I could take backpacking. Although if I had to I’d sacrifice some weight and bulk to accommodate bringing this. I have not had it get wet other than dew but it drys quickly. Not sure how it would do if tent flooded. My 11 year old can deflate and pack it up so it’s fairly easy but you do have to put some effort into it.

Pros
  • Self-inflates in mere minutes, eliminating the need for uncomfortable manual labor
Cons
  • The pad may not be suitable for those who prefer a firmer sleeping surface
