Terrible battery life. Poor accuracy

Drains batteries like crazy. This is my third battery and I've had it for less than a week. Very disappointed with it. Edited to add *** Cannot hold temperature to save his life. He jumps around like crazy and reads very quietly. I almost overheated my hedgehog as a result. Thank goodness I had another thermometer to check.
