I love this light. I'm happy with the looks, the form factor and the swiveling ceiling mount. It emits a bright white light, perfect for a large kitchen. NOTES: Some may find it too bright for a small area unless they want to bring out the details and need lots of white "daylight". We have a big kitchen and we like it when it's bright. This fixture replaced an outdated ceiling fixture with two round fluorescent tubes (a large 12" fixture paired with a small 8" fixture). Don't worry, but some may be unhappy if the 13" light doesn't cover the hole in their old light, etc. This could mean drywall, putty and paint. The mounting plate and fasteners were in the package and assembly. The plate had MANY mounting options so it was easy to adapt to a standard US electrical box (your experience may vary). Once the mounting plate is in place, the bracket simply screws onto the mounting plate. However, you must have some electrical and/or home renovation experience to install such a product as it cannot and should not be plugged into an outlet. You have to hardwire it, which means it has to be installed by an electrician or installed by yourself (not everyone is ready for this). Finally, the installation guide is a bit flimsy. The largest element is not mentioned: since the luminaire itself is screwed onto the mounting plate, there is no space for cables under the mounting plate. Plan to use an electrical box to avoid cramming wires into the ceiling so everything is flush.
