Very strong plastic smell that makes us worried about our baby's breathing. I don't know what it is or how to get rid of it (we've tried detergent with no success) but it smells very chemical, artificial, obviously part of the manufacturing process. Is it VOCs (Volatile Organic Chemicals) that can be very harmful to health, especially for a baby? I have no idea. We've contacted customer service and are awaiting replies, but we want other parents to know first. Also, after wearing them for a few days, I noticed that our feet become very slippery after walking, even on other surfaces. , it means that some kind of coating on the surface is failing. (this is the origin of the smell) and that means one thing: kids playing/eating with it are ingesting and exposing to this chemical component and I don't like it at all. The first damage you may notice is when children are running. from the mat surface to the tiled floor (9, like ours), they slip and fall, which has already happened to two children including mine, banging their heads on the hard floor. It just happened and I'm very, very upset. I will throw away this piece of trash before my child and his friends get hurt.
