Fantastic binoculars! The image quality they deliver is superb. You can pay more than twice as much for an equivalent pair of Nikon binoculars, and Nikons will probably be better, but they'll only be 5% or 10% better, not twice as good. sporting events and the like. They have a good balance between magnification, wide field of view and brightness (exit pupil). A higher magnification of 10x42 would also be fine for these purposes, but you lose some field of view at higher magnification. The additional field of view is useful for spotting birds that tend to move. It's easier to find and keep track of birds. Higher magnification also means more image shake, 8x magnification is easier to hold still than 10x magnification. The large exit pupil makes it easier to see in bright daylight, allowing you to see the full circle of the image even if your eyes aren't perfectly aligned behind your eyeballs. You have no problem seeing the full circle of the image. I retract the eyecups completely with a twist and that's it. The eyecups make observing without glasses very comfortable, I just have to adjust the diopter. These are medium to large binoculars, but I find them light enough to wear around my neck all day. Lighter than my 7x50 but not as bright at dusk or when looking at the night sky. They are nitrogen purged and waterproof so they don't fog up on the inside and you can use them in the rain with ease. . If you dunk them in the river while canoeing, they're fine. Overall I think they are excellent quality for the money and the nitrogen purge at this price makes them an even better buy.
