I was skeptical about this unit so bought it to test. The magnet is very strong. My only concern is that it will be scratched when you put it on the car. I'm thinking of a thin felt on the bottom to ease my anxiety but haven't tried it yet. I tested the device in a very dark, safe place in good and bad weather. I could easily see the device up to 200 meters away in solid and blinking modes. I plan to buy more for my car and my wife's car.
