Excellent sound quality never gets old. If my recollection is correct, I purchased this system a decade ago. There was a lull of several years where it couldn't be used, but now it's back, and it's the primary focus of the speakers' audio output. The status quo with him is ideal. Also, the common, sub, center, and rear channel balancing settings, along with the distribution and intelligibility of the sound, are all excellent. The fifth speaker doesn't need to be a core driver. However else may be said, the technology behind virtual surround sound is still in its infancy. Yes, by some magic, these tiny plastic headphones manage to defy all known principles of audio quality. And at whisper levels as well!
