16 oz nominal, 15+5/8 oz actual. Described as "Made of Solid Brass" but is affected by magnetic fields even with the steel tip removed. Probably not for very precise work in strong magnetic fields. Even if the magnet doesn't stick to it, the gravitational pull is enough to roll a round magnet onto it (or knock a magnet over on the edge) on a smooth, flat surface. when approaching. C'mon, they didn't say it wasn't magnetic so I guess I have to carry it, although it annoys me that I turned down the other 16oz brass plumb bob which was cheaper thinking Bon Tool would be equivalent Quality. . Some of these others came with two free replacement points (you'll have to buy one for them separately for $9.60). Speaking of points, the retail card says "Keep extra points in a cap." Of course there's a cavity under the cap, but I made it too shallow by at least a .120" bit hole for the included tip.
