Very loud, I read someone's review that the sound is quiet, it's muffled, the thing is cool. It's only a 5 inch speaker but loud for the price and was fine to hear in my 1/2 acre backyard and wasn't half jacked! There is a second volume on the front of the MP3 player. Take a close look at the front / Vol + button (hold "Fwd / Vol +" to increase volume). I think it's when you use it as a karaoke device you can control the music volume and still have the microphone volume. But I plugged my guitar into the mic input and used the delay knob for the effect. Great practice amp, definitely a lot of jammin' volume. We use it at home to play MP3s and it works for days on a single charge. The case seems to be quite robust. Would I buy again? AHA.
