We travel quite often and LOVE snorkeling. Since space is limited when traveling, it always annoys me that my husband always insists on packing his fins. This product solved that problem for me. These fins are compact, travel-friendly and functional. Unlike flexible, slippery fins, these fins have protection on the underside, and the fin itself is slightly off the ground, so walking in them is not difficult at all. You can just put them on the beach and walk over rocks and sand without worrying about tripping. I see where this would be very useful in locations where there are lava rocks, coral, or other sharp surfaces. As an added benefit the sock curves slightly over the foot and fits different feet allowing my husband and I to wear the same fins. I've never worn his fins because I got blisters from them, but these fins have a soft surface that makes it almost impossible to get a blister. In the water they work the same as longer fins as the fins themselves are quite stiff so they generate a lot of propulsion without kicking up sand and mud underwater keeping the field of view clear. Overall I would highly recommend these fins for travel and general use.
