My existing 525 chain broke after I sanded down the pin head and it ran with no problems, being careful to push the pin and not the link and also using the second largest push pin. With rivets on my new RK chain it was a little tricky to align everything but with a caliper and the instructions it worked fine too. The entire process took less than an hour. This is also my second time. As others have suggested, take the threaded parts out and clean them very well with solvent and then lubricate them with differential oil before use. There was some manufacturing dirt on the threads upon arrival which could have had a negative impact if not cleaned beforehand.
