Install one of these pumps and that noise will go away forever. The valve mechanism must also starve for oil.
I have installed these oil pumps 5-6 times on the 5.3L and 6.0L. The 5.3 engine had valvetrain noise at idle, even though the hand gauge showed hot oil pressure of 20psi. Install one of these pumps and that noise will go away forever. The valve train has to starve for oil with the old pump. 2007+ requires a sump reset to swap them out, 2006 and below can do without, but it's no fun.
