Review on 1 TB WD My Book Mac USB 2.0 External Hard Drive for Desktop by John Milligan

First off, I'm probably not the best person to write a review of anything electronic as most of what I know is pretty basic. However, I've been using this desktop hard drive for about 2 weeks now and haven't had any problems with it. It's so quiet you can't even hear it when it's on, and it only takes a few minutes to transfer large image files. I was also able to quickly and easily partition the HD by going into Disk Utility, reserving 500GB for Time Machine backups and the remaining 1.5TB for regular storage of old pictures, music, etc. I also have a large amount of uncompressed AVI video I'm working on porting and I love that there's still room on this HD! Other hard drives I have are portable so take up less space and work with 1 USB cable so I wasn't sure if I wanted the desktop version with a power cable. But it turns out this HD is unobtrusive and just runs in the background without bothering you. I haven't had the urge to move it yet either, so the desktop size wasn't an issue, although it's pretty small for something with that much memory!
