Review on 🛢️ Moeller Marine Products: Fuel Tank Sending Units for 4 to 28 Inch Tanks - Enhanced SEO by Rodrigo Harrison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great but be careful with old boats.

Replaced defective sensor with an older Sea Ray (97) bowrider. Apart from the fact that part of the floor and the rear seat support had to be removed (not Möller's fault, of course), the biggest problem was installing the new unit. The kit comes with both a gasket and mounting bolts, and I blindly used new bolts (they're beautiful). After tightening them, I admired my work and accidentally pressed on the gas tank, which caused a slight over-pressurization in the tank, causing gas to leak around the gasket. In the end I compared the beautiful screws to the ugly ones and noticed that the threads were slightly different. So I went back to the old propellers and made a gas tight fit. (including the newly developed "Press the Tank" test, which I can patent). Also, prior to installation, I tried out the new transmitter block with the gas sensor by moving the wires from the old block to the new one and moving the float rod. The pressure gauge worked perfectly. I'm glad it works and I'm glad I didn't delete the sender threads. If you use "press test" please send me royalties :)

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not bad
