I've had this strip for a few months now and I have mixed feelings. In short: if you've invested heavily in your own Hue ecosystem or are planning to use it in a room with other Hue products, this product may not be for you. I've moved these strips to an area where there aren't any other Hue products and I'm very happy with their price. I would never pay $80 to add smart lighting to this area of my home, but I'm glad I paid about half that amount for locally controlled smart lighting with this level of performance in this new area. ---- First - the overall assembly quality. These LED strips are coated with something like epoxy or resin. On cheaper LED strips, this epoxy can turn yellow quickly. I am happy to report that this has NOT happened to me, even when the strips were installed in high temperature and high humidity conditions. Unfortunately, the glue is a different story: it failed quickly. While I'll admit that the surface I glued to is far from perfect, it failed quickly - within the first month or so. I was able to solve the problem by buying some aluminum LED channels and attaching strips to them. --------- Next - pairing and performance. Pairing was nothing for me! I have a Hue Hub and a Home Assistant Hub. I had no problem pairing it with any hub. But I wasn't thrilled with the performance of the strip connected to the Hue hub. - It is very difficult/impossible to match the color of the original Hue product with this strip. - Color and fading on/off don't quite match this band. - Sometimes the band would turn back on after turning it off via the Hue app. I originally had this lamp in a room with other Hue products and decided to move the product to a different location in the house, away from other Hue lights. Products where it is not noticeable. This improved the perceived user experience. ---- I don't think first brand Hue products have much value, so I won't say you should go out and buy a Hue - Hue Indoor Strip Lightstrip Plus is little better than this paper. However, if you want to use the Entertainment Area feature or want to use the LED strip in combination with other Hue products in close proximity, please refer to the Hue product catalogue.
