Review on Corsair iCUE H100i RGB Pro XT: Superior Cooling with 240mm Radiator by Joe Roberts

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great cooler, easy installation, great RGB/look and feel

Bought this cooler after trying the EVGA CLC 360 and even returning it due to the insanely noisy fans (although it worked fine). idle. This Corsair cooler was the difference between day and night when it came to noise, the maglev fans were whisper-quiet and unobtrusive even at their extreme profile settings. The pump isn't loud either, I can't hear it unless I open the side panel and put my ear close to the device. even then almost silent. Cooling performance with my OC i7-8700k is excellent, maybe a few degrees hotter than the EVGA cooler, but I'd like to rate the noise level compared to another cooler. The CPU block looks great on both coolers, but once this is turned on and lights up, your PC looks much better than the EVGA block, and the customizability of all LEDs on the block is much higher than EVGA. Setting to change only the static color of their logo. Software wise, I'm not sure where the complaints about Corsair's iCUE software lie, as it works great and looks so much better than frankly EVGA crap on a variety of settings. Flow control software. In addition to being able to set the heatsink fans to a "zero RPM" profile that lowers them to 0 when idle, you can create custom fan curves that aren't limited to the 25% minimum as allowed by the EVGA -Software is limited. I haven't had any installation problems or problems installing fans as air intakes. I know some other reviewers had issues with threads not being drilled into their heatsink, but my fan screws fitted perfectly and I was able to hand tighten them almost completely. This may be due to manufacturing changes Corsair made at some point after the introduction of these coolers, but I can safely say that I had no trouble installing them and the pivoting tubes on the CPU block meant I was in the Cooler felt more comfortable angle at which the tubes were mounted compared to the tubes coming straight out of the block of the EVGA cooler. All in all a great purchase and I have no doubt that given the quality and build of the product it will continue to perform as well as it has in the past.

Pros
