These gas struts work great. Installation was fairly easy - included ballscrews inserted at both ends, OEM parts removed; these parts fit perfectly; screwed, key turned to 12 and that's it. Now the hood of my SUV stays up and won't come down on me! OEM replacement parts cost at least three times as much. Great stuff, they work great. In fact, after constantly lowering and not holding the hood of my SUV with the old original parts, this hood actually goes up with these replacement parts. It actually requires very little effort to lower and latch the hood. Excellent article. Very satisfied and highly recommended. VERY IMPORTANT: Note that the ball screws will NOT come out in the OEM hardware they replace. They are firmly connected to the frames. Of course it's possible you could destroy the case and take it out that way, but these parts come with ball screws. So all you have to do is plug them together at both ends and screw them tight. That's all. Very happy with my purchase. Highly recommended. Thank you!
