The previous owner installed the wrong bonnet stays and they popped out after a few uses. They work great and actually have a little more lift than the stock ones. I had some minor issues with one clip but the others had no issues and they popped up right away.

Be careful not to buy. This rack failed after 1 month, I received it on May 10th and on June 18th it died. Worst replacement ever. It fits well, but not last. The struct is already leaking and I can hardly open the hood. This is on my 2005 4runner. I would like to return or exchange but that was after the 30 day return period.

Works great. So happy they came with washers that fit between the strut and the hood or fender. Genuine Toyota parts are non-removable. The standoffs must be unscrewed to remove the entire unit. New, screw in racks with washers and clip in spacers. Easy EasyPowerful, the hood is easy to lift. I would recommend them.

Clamps on the ends make installation easier. The instructions didn't explain it to me that well, but I figured it out quickly. The only tools I needed were a 12mm open-end wrench or wrench and a small screwdriver to release the tension on the spring clip. Good enough for my 2005 4Runner.

Wanted to replace the hood supports rather than use a broom to hold the hood up. Ha. The retail prices were very high and I went to Revain to get a better price and see the reviews. I saved a lot of money without sacrificing quality. My mechanic already worked on the car and he installed them for free, very easy. I would definitely buy from this company. again. These gas struts work great. Installation was fairly easy - included ballscrews inserted at both ends, OEM parts removed; these parts fit perfectly; screwed, key turned to 12 and that's it. Now the hood of my SUV stays up and won't come down on me! OEM replacement parts cost at least three times as much. Great stuff, they work great. Update January 2019: I installed them in November 2017 and wrote a positive review. But in December 2018 they stopped holding the hood. I decided to try another brand which turned out to be identical to Boxi except for the packaging. Probably from the same factory. This way I could use the same balls/cleats I previously installed for the Boxi racks to attach the new ones. After removing the boxis I found that only one boxis brace had failed and the other was not enough to hold the hood up on…
