Review on πŸ’» Aluminum USB Hub-Grey with 7 USB 3.0 Ports & 1 Smart Charging Port, Individual Switches, 36W Power Adapter, 3.3ft Long Cord - USB Port Expander for Laptops & PC with Extra USB Ports by David Cronin

Good bandwidth and fast charging capability

I used this with my Samsung Galaxy S21+ to see if it would fast charge my phone. And so it was. Okay, the charging port works fine. The other 7 USB 3.0 ports performed reasonably well in data transfer tests between my Samsung Evo SSD and RavPower USB SSD. Enabling an external USB to SATA device also worked well with a Western Digital mechanical hard drive as long as you plug the power adapter into that hub. Otherwise, the USB port itself will not have enough power to keep the hard drive running. Windows 10 recognized the hub without any problems and every device you connected to the hub was recognized and treated by the operating system just like you. it would be if it was plugged directly into the motherboard USB ports. The ability to turn the USB ports on and off individually was a nice bonus, saving you from constantly plugging and unplugging devices. It's more compact than I expected and looks and feels solid. Using a hub to power a keyboard or mouse is overkill for a desktop PC, but for mobile use with a laptop it's the perfect combination. Connecting a USB-powered portable monitor also worked, but again, make sure you're using the included power adapter to provide the necessary power. However, if you connect too many power-hungry devices, this USB hub will not work. This is expected of every center.
