Many people like me want to upgrade their home desktop in the COVID era. Specifically, I was attempting to install a two-arm, dual-monitor mount that I bought cheaply at a 5S auction at my place of work. The problem was that the mount lacked hardware; Some computer monitor mounts have brackets that rest on a collar or clip. This collar is very important. The collar has two set screws that keep it and the hand sitting on it at a certain height. This means the arm can rotate left and right as the collar does all the work to keep the arm at a certain height. But what if you don't have a collar? Technically, the lever has its own set screw to hold it on the bar, but that's not great. So unless you have a collar, the arm and attached monitor can and probably will fall off. That can get very expensive. As you may have guessed, I didn't have one of the two collars for my steed. To make matters worse, I couldn't get the OEM part. Many computer monitor mounts have an outside diameter of the rods of about 3.5 cm or 35 mm. Do you know which part has an inner diameter of 3.5 cm or 35 mm? Bicycle Seatpost Clamp in this listing. It's a snug fit as the monitor mount rods are probably a bit larger than the advertised 35mm OD, but it *really* fits. All you have to do is unscrew the latch nut on the yoke, remove the latch, slide the yoke over the post, and then reassemble the yoke latch assembly. And when is he at the right height? This thing actually works *better* than the OEM collar. If needed, it's easy to adjust the height of this clip by releasing the latch and sliding the clip up or down. No more dealing with stupid flanged set screws. No more worrying about where to attach the included Allen key. When is the bolt closed? The thing is solid. The clip fits as snugly, if not tighter, than an OEM ring on the post without deforming or damaging the post like set screws do. It doesn't move when you click the latch, period. My monitor mounts and bulky 27" monitors attached to them are more secure than anything that can be removed. I can't believe this hack worked and I'm surprised a part like this isn't as popular with OEMs. Mounting kits for monitors. He could *definitely* be advertised as one of them. he is so good If I ever need to change the collar on my 35mm monitor mount again, I'll probably swap it out for one of these clamps.
