Review on Efficient Replacement Blade Clamp: Black & Decker 58259300 by Rob Dixon

blade clamp (P/N 581098-02SV) on my Black and Decker JS300 jigsaw broke and this part is no longer available. My wife suggested trying this piece (58259300) as it looked very similar. With a tiny grinding piece in the slot that slides over the saber saw, the piece fits perfectly! $8.07 saved my puzzle from a landfill. This blade clamp is actually better than the original blade clamp it replaced as it has a square hole for the reciprocating saw bar to slide through rather than just a U-slot to rest on the reciprocating saw bar. The hex retaining screws were equally spaced on both blade clamps. The reason why the original blade clip is not available is because the original design was inferior and therefore all the replacement blade clips have long been sold out and discontinued. Black and Decker will say this blade clamp won't work, but I'm telling you, using a small file to smooth out the two tiny ridges in the saw bar groove will do!
