Review on πŸ“¦ HUION LB4 Light Box - Wireless Battery-Powered Ultra-Thin Portable A4 Size LED Light (12.6x9 inch) by Karla Richter

Where have you been all my life?

I don't know how long Huion has been selling battery powered lightbars but it's one of the best purchases I've made to create my artwork (and I wish I had it hadn't done it for a long time). This is a fairly simple device, so the instructions are just a few short paragraphs with a detailed diagram of the light panel. I don't think the instructions should be longer, but there are certainly a few ways to be clearer. Example: Since the battery had to be charged initially, it took me two tries to figure out which way to flip the switch, to get a charge - this is easy to fix with a small sticker or icon. Otherwise, once it's charged, toggle on/off/battery, and controlling the intensity of the light was pretty intuitive. Before purchasing this light mat, I used natural light from my window to support my work. Not only was it uncomfortable to stand and draw by the window, I could only work outside in bright light. Why didn't I buy a lightbox sooner? I didn't want to deal with a huge, heavy, unwieldy animal, and I didn't dare make a costly mistake. I'd rather not than spend money on some shit. I've been using my light mat for almost two weeks. I love so much about my light pillow. I can sit comfortably on my couch or in the middle of the coffee shop with a light pad on my lap while I paint without the hassle of a cord. I can rotate the panel for convenience depending on what I'm working on and just turn it on. when I need it to trace and move and withdraw while drawing. The lighting is even, and the ability to adjust the intensity of the light has proven very useful as I often switch between carbon to carbon, Bristol to carbon, and then Bristol to Bristol during the same painting session. It fits in my backpack and is very light so I can take it and my laptop with me when I'm working on comics or sketching with friends or going to a coffee shop. And I like it, to power it from my computer or an outlet. A minor annoyance is that when it's on and I'm at work, I accidentally touch the touch power with my left hand and turn off the lightbar. (I'm right-handed, but a left-hander mentioned the same problem). I suspect it's just a matter of experimenting to see how I can avoid touching the power button. Or maybe it will just happen. For me it was a great decision that paid off. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. but a left-hander mentioned the same problem).
