Review on 🏎️ Enhanced HLHONDB-1 Front Disc Brake Conversion Kit for Honda - Elevate Performance by Jayshawn Webb

Works great, stops for a dime and installs in just a few hours

This product attaches easily to my 03 Rancher ES. All bores matched to each other, perfect tolerances. This job could probably be done in 2 hours but as I already had to remove the hubs I rebuilt the axle shafts, cleaned and repackaged the bearings, replaced the CV joint boots etc. This took some time but I would recommend doing this to do on an aging quad - you may never have to do it again, and fitting these brakes will get you halfway there. The brakes work wonderfully. At first I was worried these brakes wouldn't grip well because it took a lot of stopping power to get the stopping power I needed, but after a few miles on the quad the pads and rotors broke and now they stop like a sledgehammer. Very happy with the price, quality and performance of this kit. Installation instructions: Do not lose the copper washers and banjo bolts from the original brake system. You will need her again. I had to re-route the brake lines a bit as the old drum system mount had the banjo bolt on the front of the quad while this system has the calipers on the rear. Take out the axle shafts, do not forget that your front differential is probably pouring gear oil everywhere (prepare a sump). Your best bet is to check your manual and get extra gear oil (NOT ENGINE OIL). This oil is easy to change during this installation and would be very cumbersome at any other time so this can be done as well. Keep a set of cotter pins handy as I had to mangle a few rusty pins during initial disassembly. A press or clamp (if using a new deep hole bushing) is required to press the new mounting tabs against the hub. As I said above, you have to apply a little bit to those brakes to really see the performance. Pads and rotors must be ground against each other to achieve full braking power. In my experience, you won't really feel their grip until you've ridden them at least 10 miles or more. So before giving this product a bad review, be patient. Good luck and safe driving!
