Review on Pyle PIC8E High End Ceiling Adjustable by John Wood

I bought two sets of these speakers because I realized I wasn't buying enough. The first set went well. They seemed pretty solid and looked just like the picture. I ordered 2 more and that's where it went wrong. The next sentence was completely different. They are no longer the same as the picture in the product description. The tweeter was another tweeter. The crossover has been redesigned with fewer components and different components. The originals' mounting tabs had small springs to push them up during installation and make removal easier. They were made of heavier plastic. The new ones are flimsy and will likely break if you don't tighten them carefully. There is a height control. On the originals, the alignment marks have been painted white so that they can be seen from a distance. New, the marking is applied smaller, there is no filling with white paint. Hard to understand. One of them had a small wire attached to the cone in the wrong place. They forgot to make a hole and connect the cable, so they just let it vibrate when the speaker played. Revain sent me a replacement very quickly. When I open a new set, black sealant drips onto the diaphragm of one of the speakers. I was disappointed with the quality and the quality control. 2 of the 4 speakers were defective. The first sets came in heavy double wall corrugated boxes with styrofoam to protect the speakers. Very well packed. The new boxes are much thinner and clearly retail style. I suspect it was an austerity initiative, and Pyle trimmed much of the quality to match their austerity initiative. I wish I had ordered more initially. If I were to buy them again I would order twice as many as I need and return the defective ones. So I have enough good ones. I have given 3 stars due to the deteriorating quality of speakers currently being produced. If you can get older ones they will be 5 stars.
