Review on πŸ”‘ Subaru Baja Forester Impreza WRX STi Key Fob (NHVWB1U711) - Keyless Entry Remote Set of 2 (2005-2008) by Davon Clark

Revainrating 2 out of 5

None worked well for keyless entry systems

UPDATE: Received a second FOB in the mail yesterday. Your Revain ad doesn't mention this, but I assume this FOB should be for a Subaru with a Mexican VIN, not a Japanese one (like mine). However, my FCC ID (NHVWB1U711) matched what was described in the Revain product description. that's why i tried it. They appear to be well built and look OEM, but they won't program with my Forester. Another thing you need to know (not say), Forester (2010) can remember 4 FOB codes. So if you try to add non-working code like I did several times, you will eventually (after 4 tries) push the original working FOB code out of memory. So it has to be reprogrammed. So I know that the instructions they give for programming actually work. My suggestion to the seller is to increase the amount of information on their product page on Revain. Ask about the origin of the production in Japan and Mexico. FYI: if I understand correctly. If your VIN begins with "J", it is made in Japan. I opted for a refund and looked elsewhere. I had to leave Revane to find him. Fingers crossed! Original Review >>>> I'll update this review when the deal closes, but the first fob I got didn't program. The procedure works perfectly. I was able to verify this because trying to program the new one reprogrammed the old one. I used their instructions to reprogram my old one and it worked. I changed the batteries to see if the new battery works. the battery was good. Revane immediately sent a replacement, which is due to arrive today. My current FOB part number (NHVWB1U711) matches the product description on Revain. Let's see. I'll add a review when the new one works.
