My Bird's Favorite Toy (UPDATED)

When I first placed this little basket in my kennel's cage, he paid no attention. After I put him by the shelf so he could reach it more easily, he started playing with some items inside. It took him a few days to get used to the cage, but once he did, he started getting up on top and pulling and pulling, trying to get the toys out. They are tightly packed. He first pulled out the crumpled paper, one strip at a time, tore each one into pieces, threw them on the floor of the cage, and then went back to the finger trap toys. He destroyed one of them, but the other four are still on his shelf in various stages of destruction. She loves grassy nesting material and will burrow under it. He throws and chews popsicle sticks and other wooden spoons. Now, about every three or four days, I take his things that he throws out of his basket and put them back in the basket. As a result, the feeding process is restarted again and again. However, last time he pulled everything out much faster and started chewing on the basket itself. I saw him chewing on the little bits of plastic on the front of the basket - to be honest I'll probably take them off next time - they're small and I'm afraid he'll try to eat or swallow them. If he were a bigger bird like the revane, it could be dangerous. Considering the price of this item, the fact that it lasted about a month and we'll probably last a few more weeks before it tears through the basket enough that we remove it from its cage, I'd say it does is a great toy and investment in bird entertainment. I will definitely buy more in the future. My bird just loves to rummage through this packed little basket. UPDATE: Finally after a few months my sparrow destroyed the first basket and all the liners. So we bought another one. This time we weren't scared of him or anything when we put him in the cage - he walked right up to him and started picking at him. He really likes this basket and it's still his favorite toy! We will buy it again and again for him.
