We are huge fans of Tuffy toys! We have had the gator, the small T-Rex, the Octopus and the shark and they have all held up really well for our Pitbull. Of course, if he's in a determined mood.he can destuff.but it takes time and effort and even then the carcasses are still mostly intact. We still have the carcass of his shark that he plays with from over a year ago!

I chose a tuffy toy as my dog was given the tuffy alien octopus toy as a gift which he just loved. When the alien octo was torn I even got it re sewn so it lasted longer (5mths) as my bull dog loves to play with toys but needs a very strong toy, most don't last long. Tuffy was torn within 5hrs of loving his new toy tearing under the eyes, I was devastated as was basil. I have pulled out much of the stuffing now and just watch his play with the toy so stuffing is not swallowed as he just got it!

I have a yellow lab and he loves to tear things apart. He had the Tuffy lobster and it lasted him quite a while, so we decided to splurge on this one. While the dog definitely had a lot of fun with it, all of the stuffing was torn out within about an hour. The "carcass" for lack of a better word lasted another few weeks before it was completely shred to pieces.

A durable dog toy good for medium to large dogs, aggressive chewers will eventually get the stuffing out at some point, unless you make constant repairs. Most dog toys only lasted days with my Shepard mix puppy, this alligator lasted 3 months before she finally got the stuffing out. She still plays with the limp body so there's that.

My puppy is in love with this toy! She is sixth months and is an aggressive chewer. She has unfortunately already (in less than eight hours) chewed the pink lining off the bottom part of the mouth and pulled out multiple fist-full's of stuffing. I am going to attempt to permanently "close" the mouth so she can keep chewing away with it. I hoped this toy would have at least lasted a day.

Good toy. Only complaint is that I didn't read the level of toughness. It is rated as a 5 and I need a 9 or 10 for my big chewers. One of my big guys ripped into it within 3 min of playing. It would be a good toy for a pup that doesn't try to kill his toys

I gave this five stars for the appearance of durability, although my dog does not like to play with it at all. I'm not sure why but he hasn't played with it once during the past three months since we received it.

Kudos for being well put together. However if your dog is a power chewer it will be ripped apart in no time. Which is the case for me. My dog did enjoy it very much though. I let her have it until all that was left was a wee bit of fabric, as she does not swallow the parts she destroys. So all in all she had it about a month.

My dog loves this toy. However, it is definitely NOT indestructible. She has torn off the face, extracted the stuffing and destroyed one of the squeakers in just an hour. It still has a little life left in it, but the search continues for a toy that can hold up.

I love Tuffy's dog toys. Both of my Dachshund's tear apart toys within minutes. One has to get to the sqeakers so my room always ends up with stuffing everywhere. Not with Tuffy's. Tuffy's toy's actually last. I have 3 and all 3 are still holding up well. I feel they are worth it and am glad they make these. The gator is a big large for my dogs, but it's actually cute when they do play with it.

This is an overall fairly tough toy. The only downside to this is the mouth which is not tough at ALL. My light chewer was through the mouth area within minutes and to the squeaky toy inside. Strange to have such a tough animal body and a weak mouth.

Toy looks great, however, not as tough as we had hoped. It took our English Bulldog just a couple of hours to have one of the legs ripped open and the stuffing ripped out. Still more toy to go and she continues to play with it, but as it stands right now, Roxi 1, the Gator 0.

I have a 4 month old Doberman puppy, and as you know, a teething puppy needs alot to chew on. He has many toys, including a tuffy pig, but this alligator is his absolute favorite. He likes to basically "hug" it while chewing its head. Like some other posts had already warned, he did manage to make a hole in the top of the toys mouth, which, now is a stuffing dispenser. But none the less, he love, love, loves it! His joy is such that picking up the stuffing is worth the trouble to me. After all,

I had high hopes for this toy, since it seemed much more well made than most dog toys. Unfortunately, my boxer-german shepherd mix puppy destroyed it in about 30 minutes. It usually only takes him 5 minutes to get all the stuffing out of a toy, so this was an improvement, but still, not worth $17 for 30 minutes of play before it ended up in the trash. If you have a dog that it's quite as heavy a chewer, it might last a lot longer.

DON’T BUY THIS DOG TOYNot durable at all, here’s a picture after I opened the package and gave it to my dog, 30 minutes later. The toy is Very Expensive and NOT durable. Now I have to go through the hassle to go to UPS to ship it back! Why isn’t a picture worth a thousand words NOT enough? It was supposed to arrive in 2 days and it took 7 days to arrive and 30 minutes to rip open!

Our Sheltie loves Tuffy toys. They are the only ones that last more than a day as he is a pretty aggressive chewer when it comes to his toys. The pink inside the gator's mouth was the first to fall apart, but the rest of the toy has held up (it's been at least a couple months).

My dog will destroy anything (including a "ballistic" chew proof bed) if given enough time. This toy has held up well and I think will last a long time as long as he is supervised while playing.

So my 9 month goldendoodle puppy loveeeed Gary. for about 10 minutes. He managed to rip off one of his arms and pull the majority of the stuffing out of him within 10 minutes. I tucked the arm back into the hole and that helped for a bit, but he still loves to rip that hole open and pull the stuffing out. He carries Gary around in his mouth all of the time and sleeps with his head on him like a pillow, so I hate to take him away but I will have to eventually as the arm hole keeps getting larger

My French bulldog hasn't been able to tear it,but,I can hardly make it squeak and he hasn't yet either. It hasn't slowed him down on it, but he does like squeaky toys. Maybe it will soften up a bit and start squeaking. And,he is a small dog and this is almost as big as he is. Other than that, it has been a winner.

I have a 140 pound mastiff that tears through most stuff toys in minutes. He had a much harder time tearing through this one. However, he managed to get all the stuffing out of it very quickly. The toy itself is intact he just managed to pull out all the stuffing through one or two small holes he made. So I will still give it four stars because it's still holding up, it just doesn't have stuffing.
