This gator is okay if you don't have a monster at home.

I have a hard time giving it less than three stars because our puppy is disastrously destructive, but he is only 6 months old and was able to tear this thing to shreds in a matter of minutes! He's an Aussie mix monster who could chew up a cinder block and not bat an eye, so I guess I can't blame the toy. Our little boxer mix is sweet and gentle on even the softest of toys, so this one would have lasted him a lifetime - but for severe chewers, I'd stick with Nylabones!

Pros
  • The TUFFY toy is made with multiple layers of durable material, ensuring that it can withstand even aggressive play styles
Cons
  • The toy may not be as durable as other options on the market for multi-dog households

Lasted 10 minutes, but dog still loves it!

Great toy. Although it lasted about 10 minutes before my 55 lb Belgian Malinois ripped out the squeaker in the head. He still loves it though!

Pros
  • My dog can tear up anything and he’s a Boston Terrier! Takes him months to poke a hoke!
Cons
  • The toy may not withstand heavy chewers

Dog loves this toy, but.

This toy was supposed to be tough, however, my dog had a hole in it and was pulling out stuffing all over the living room within 2 hours of giving it to him. He still plays with it, but there is no suffing left in the head.

Pros
  • The TUFFY toy is available in multiple sizes, ensuring that there is an option for dogs of all breeds and sizes
Cons
  • The toy may not hold up well to repeated exposure to water

Gator Time: my feedback

This is the longest lasting Tuffy toy we've gotten for our two 100-pound bully dogs to share. It is extremely durable, and the dogs are loving 'Gator time.' As with all toys, this should not be left out for a dog to chew on as the stuffing will eventually come out, and the strings become stringy.

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • The toy may not be versatile enough for all play styles

Almost indestructible!

2 months and only one hole. And the best part? The toy seems to be sewn in small sections so only the stuffing in the foot came out. Leg is sill completely stuffed. I was expecting the thing in shreds by now but it still has all 4 limbs teeth and spikes! Very happy. 2 pitbulls

Pros
  • The TUFFY toy can be used for training purposes, as it can be used as a reward during training sessions
Cons
  • The toy may not be as durable as advertised over time

Hanging in there - my new review

I bought this assuming it would hold up to my heavy chewer German Shepherd. It is still hanging in there but with a week she found a weak point (the tongue) and had 1/3 of the stuffing and the squeaker all over the living room. We pulled out the excess fluff and she still uses it, but now we have to keep an eye on her with it so she doesn't swallow anything. Overall this has held up better than other soft toys we have purchased (we tend to look at them as living a month or less), but I think…

Pros
  • B000OC7PEI
Cons
  • The seams may come undone after repeated use

Our three German Shepherds make for great product testers and we have bought all the Tuffy toys. This one has held up very well so far (3 weeks in): my Big guy will taunt the two "ladies” with it and they will begin a playful game of tug-of-war. The gator is still in one piece with the stuffing yet to be pulled out. I think it comes down to how dedicated the dog is to ripping it apart. My guys tend to chew it and work to get the squeaker to make noise. They prance around with it like it’s a…

Pros
  • The TUFFY toy is easy to clean and maintain, ensuring that it remains hygienic and safe for your pet to play with
Cons
  • The toy may not be as flexible as advertised

Dog loves it: my feedback

I don't know what it is about the gator, but our Great Dane just loves it. This is her 5th one in 4 years and by far her favorite toy. We have bought other animals (some even green) but she doesn't take to them like the Gator. The Tuffy's are a bit expensive, but they really last. She will put a whole in it right away, but then she gets stuck and it takes her 5 to 7 months to destroy it. Other toys are 5 to 7 minutes, so that's really good! She has even eaten a Kong right up. Our Dane loves…

Pros
  • The TUFFY World's Tuffest Soft Dog Toy is designed to withstand even the roughest play styles
Cons
  • The toy may not have enough give for comfortable play

My Dogs love it for my opinion

My Bulldogs love Tuffy's toys. A lot of the reviews about longevity are right. If your dog is a chewer you better believe the first thing to go onthis is the stuffing from the legs. The reason I still give it high reviews because my dogs still love this toy even if they have pulled out all the stuffing. Its still only around $15 and for the enjoyment they get out of it that is cheap.

Pros
  • The TUFFY toy is made with high-quality stitching, ensuring that it doesn't fall apart during playtime and pose a choking hazard to your dog
Cons
  • The toy may not be as interactive as advertised over time

Not as Tuff as others.

Our dogs have a few other toys from this brand which they love and we love. Other toys they can chew up in about ten minutes while this brand has lasted months. However, when we got this guy, one of our dogs was able to chew a hole in the snout right away. We will continue to buy this brand but with more caution.

Pros
  • It can also be beneficial for puppies who are teething, providing a safe, non-toxic, and durable chew toy
Cons
  • The toy may be too loud for some owners

Tough and easy to throw

My dogs love this. I have 2 80lb malamute mixes. They aren't hard on all toys, but ones with squeakers get demolished quickly. One of them has taken to carrying it around with him. The first part to begin to unravel was the nose, but nothing appreciable has come off yet. They have destroyed all but one of the squeakers, but they still love it. Also, it's pretty hard and shaped roughly like a football, so I can almost always throw it down our hallway for the dogs to chase.

Pros
  • The TUFFY toy is machine washable, making it easy to keep clean and hygienic
Cons
  • The toy may not be as safe for pets as other options on the market

Disappointed this time because after day 1 of play the .

They are not making these toys as durable as they used to be. I had purchased one of these in the past from Tuff Toys and have had it for a couple of years and my dogs are still playing rough with it (have a cattle dog and terrier mix). The cattle dog pounds the toy on the floor and the terrier loves to chew. Disappointed this time because after day 1 of play the seams are ripping. Old toy on the left and new on the right where we already had to stitch the seam on the jaw below the eyes.

Pros
  • The TUFFY toy can help to improve your dog's social skills, as it provides an opportunity for interaction with humans and other dogs during playtime
Cons
  • The toy may not be as suitable for shy or anxious dogs

Amazing Alagator on my review.

This and the lobster is a favorite of my bully breeds fosters over the years. This is a great durable toy. It takes longer to destroy but keep in mind if you have a dog that can destroy any toy well these still will be destroyed. We as dog owners must accept that is what they do. I learned my dogs would destroy them but would love to keep the carcasses around for a long time and this lengthen play time.

Pros
  • Pet Supplies
Cons
  • The toy may have a strong odor

It’s my dog’s (border collie) favorite favorite toy

This is alligator number 4 for us. It’s my dog’s (border collie) favorite favorite toy. Each one has lasted about 8 months (with mom sewing up holes). He’s got severe anxiety and his alligator is the only thing that helps him get through the day! Very very durable!

Pros
  • Toys
Cons
  • The toy may not be as soft as its name suggests

I love the concept.

I love the concept of these tough toys, and for the most part it did last longer than most of our dog's toys. I see a design flaw in the mouth of the alligator though. That is where our dog found a weakness and started tearing it to pieces. He loved it even after he got the stuffing and all the squeakers out, so we continued to let him play with it until it was finally shred to bits. We bought him this at the end of January and threw it away last week. I will think of purchasing this brand…

Pros
  • The TUFFY toy is recommended by veterinarians and dog trainers, ensuring its quality and effectiveness
Cons
  • The toy may not provide enough stimulation for some dogs

We love Tuffy Toys - my new review

This is another favorite for my bulldog. We bought this at Christmas for her stocking and she is still playing with it. No signs of wear. She is incredibly rough with her toys so I am very pleased as to how well this has stood up to her rough housing. She also still plays with it regularly so it hold her attention. I will buy these toys again when needed.

Pros
  • The TUFFY toy is ideal for dogs who enjoy a challenge, as it requires some effort to manipulate during playtime
Cons
  • The toy may not be as versatile as other options on the market

Tough but not tough enough

My golden doodle has this torn open within 10 minutes. But he did love it, and it took him a long time to get all the stuffing out. Better than most tough toys, but still not tough enough.

Pros
  • The TUFFY toy can help to strengthen the bond between you and your dog, as interactive playtime provides a fun and meaningful way to spend time together
Cons
  • The toy may not be as engaging as other dog toys

Great toy, but mouth is a weakspot

Shipping was great, packaging was great, toy was bigger than expected, but that was a good thing. My dog LOVES this toy! It was one of his 1st birthday presents and he just lost his mind over it. I only gave 4 stars, because after 4-ish hours, he had ripped the mouth open, as it's a much thinner material than the rest of the toy. So, I cut off the material on the inside of the mouth, removed one of the squeakers and sewed the mouth shut. I guess this made it a little bit too tight, because the…

Pros
  • The TUFFY toy is suitable for dogs of all ages, from puppies to senior dogs
Cons
  • The toy may not be as sanitary as other options on the market over time

Gary Gator is not so "tuff "

This "tough" gator lasted 24 hours against my roommate's dog. Within 3 days it was nothing but a shell - but he still enjoyed playing with it. I guess if the goal is to keep the dog occupied, it works great. If the goal is not to fall apart, this tuffy is an abysmal failure.

Pros
  • The TUFFY toy is designed to be entertaining and engaging for your dog, encouraging them to play for longer periods of time
Cons
  • The toy may not be unique in comparison to other dog toys

I am torn on this item. It took my .

I am torn on this item. It took my dog around 15 miutes to 30 minutes to remove all of the stuffing and the squeaky parts. It took 3 days to destroy the rest of the animal body. But the edges are still around a couple of weeks later although it is also getting destroyed.

Pros
  • The TUFFY toy is backed by a manufacturer's warranty, giving you confidence in your purchase
Cons
  • The toy may not be as engaging as other options on the market for high-energy dogs
