I currently live in an apartment with 3 cats, a husband who works at the mill, and have a child on the way. I find this mat super easy to clean off and shake out when my husband inevitably gets dirt all over it. All it needs is a good shake and possibly a rinse depending on how dirty it gets. My 3 cats love using it as a scratch pad as well. It doesn't even look any different after their incessant scratching on it. My cats are all boys who have a range of normal to large paws/claws and they all use it to scratch on from time to time. I did find it to be smaller than I expected but not by much. It is a little smaller than the average doorframe width, but still looks good. The only thing that is hard about it is the fur gets caught in there pretty good if it gets to the point where it is in the rug moreso than on top of the rug. Overall, I think this product is worth its price and a great addition to any home, plus the design it pretty cute!
