Review on Black Finish Yamaha NS-6490 Pair of 3-Way Bookshelf Speakers by Thai Duc Bach ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The ratio of price and quality is very pleasing, I will repeat the purchase.

I decided to write a review after reading critical reviews from those who endured "no more than a year"!))) These speakers have gained their popularity and have been produced for many years precisely thanks to the even frequency response!))) We must not point the speakers in the face of the listener, let them stand straight. Those who are used to listening to Hi-Ends will not like the impartial sound of the NS-6490! Test link: https://stereo. Ru/before/profile. Php%3Ftree_id=58&product_id=16412. Html I drove them with test CDs with a sound level meter at 1/2 the volume of the Yamaha receiver in direct mode (50W each for 2 channels at 8 ohms). They play from 40Hz. 20Hz also play, only very, very quiet by ear and by the sound level meter))). But for the Turkish drum, the bottoms are enough. (By the way, the lower frequency of the double bass is 60 Hz. This is for the attention of "BASS" lovers.) All the little things and rubbish are reproduced in detail (sliding fingers along the strings, touching the soundboard sleeve, knocking trumpet valves, breathing in a flute player, etc.), but I don’t I consider this a special merit - even simple acoustics should reproduce this from a CD. It's another matter that not all music lovers listen to it and notice it. This pair arranges the instruments on the stage correctly both in front and in depth. But personally, it seems to me that the lack of symmetry between the speakers lubricates the stereo panorama a little. It seems, but by ear the whole orchestra is in place (it means that not everything is perfect after all))). At the same time, the surround sound from the Blue Rays is played by this pair as five ! It is known that a good stereo is better than a bad 5.1, but not so much that the sounds come from behind! Probably, this is the merit of the receiver - all channels gently drive into two, but theatrical gadgets are always turned off. The room where this miracle stands: matte stretch ceiling 12m2, walls - liquid wallpaper 3mm thick, the floor is covered with cork The racks turned out to be bad, I put three bronze spikes in the speakers themselves. I did not hear the rumble of the corps. What seemed like a buzz (after reading the reviews) was repeated on KEF Q5. It would be necessary to drive rock, jazz is not buzzing. I plan to fill the case with cotton, replace and solder the wires inside.

Pros
  • Sound. Closed box. When I bought the seller, I connected this pair to the amplifier instead of playing outdoor speakers for 30krub. Yamaha sounds better!
Cons
  • Dimensions. No spikes.
