I bought this to install an SSD boot drive for my OpenMediaVault home NAS. Since I used the middle tower for the necessary drive bays (I have 10 SATA ports that I want to be able to use!), I needed a good place for my boot drive and didn't use the card slots on the back. except for the "upper part" with the ITX board. This was a great solution even though my case has a 2.5" mounting option at the bottom as it partially interferes with the 3.5" bay. Granted, I use this system side-by-side in a "desktop" configuration, so headroom isn't an issue when this adapter is mounted with a plug-in board, but it works great for me. The metal construction was good and should withstand anything I ask for in the future. If I come across this type of adapter again, this will be my choice.
