My hearing isn't what it used to be. So that I could hear the TV, especially some voices, my poor wife flew out of the room. We use a Firestick that powers the receiver that powers the TV. It's impossible to use headphones on the receiver without muting the speakers, so I bought this HDMI audio extractor. The Firestick powers the audio extractor that sends the HMDI audio/video to the receiver as usual and allows you to connect your headphones to your headphones for wireless audio. The headphones sound fantastic and the audio/video from my receiver and TV doesn't degrade at all. And my wife can adjust the volume on the receiver to suit her.
