While it's sturdy and perfectly crafted to fit 300 bases, it lacks a few things. First it sprays at the finish. No powder coating, easy to scratch. Second, the magnet could be stronger. It's strong enough to stay in place on a flat surface, which is what I think it was designed for, but for anything atypical, it just isn't strong enough and will slip. Third, nothing protects the work surface from underneath the base. There may be a rubber sticky pad or something like that, but the user needs to put some kind of protective layer on it. Other than that I have no other complaints as the base works as intended.
