Review on YESWELDER Darkening Welding Goggles Grinding by Eduardo Davis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good helmet with slow bad sensors.

I'll start with the merits of this helmet. It's definitely easy. The headband is good. The field of view is very good despite being small and the color of the lenses is great. The mask covers the face well and has a low profile, that's the whole point. Now for the cons. Damn sensors. There is a noticeable lag in the auto dimming feature. Approximately half a second elapses between the start of the welding arc and the activation of the automatic dimming. If you can see it with the human eye, it's too slow. And every time, not periodically. If you block just one of the two sensors, the auto-dimming won't turn on at all, resulting in an inferior flash. I wore it to work for about an hour. I had to close my eyes, start the arc, and open them again about 1.5 seconds later to make sure my eyes didn't flare up. It's not worth it. Because of this, I had to return the lens hood as it is not practical.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Not bad
