Not all functions work

I start with the good and then move on to the bad. The lock was praised for its ease of installation. I was done in under an hour including removing the old latch. The aesthetics of the device are fine, as expected. The app is fine and the Alexa integration is fair. The app is slow but functional. Alexa is pretty limited in what she can do with it. This expensive lock is anything but functional. One of the main reasons I bought this over a Nest or similar 'smart' lock was the built in alarm feature. The alarm can be configured as follows: Acoustic signal when opening/closing the door - works intermittently. Burglar alarm - not working. The lock I bought didn't seem to have an alarm function. Schlege customer service was great and got me a replacement within days. After pasting, the alarm function still does not work. I shook the door hard and slammed it really hard (I'm a big ex-college soccer player so I wasn't being gentle) and couldn't get the thing to beep. I tried everything I could think of except actually yank the door off its hinges. Nothing. Value for money can't be better than bad if two consecutive door locks don't work as advertised. I suppose in the future I'll rip it out and buy the Nest version. It's a few hundred dollars. This will most likely be the last Schlege product I will consciously buy.

Cons
  • Not sure
