Suitable for AFO. It's great that we no longer have to wear my son's shoes over his AFO day in and day out. My only complaint is that they wear out VERY quickly. Bought them at the end of August. Had to replace them in December because the zips were worn out. But my son loves them, they are really comfortable and compared to other shoes we bought the price is not that bad. I'm going to buy some Dritz Fray Checks in hopes of keeping them better. I think metal zippers could also be an important upgrade for a manufacturer. But all in all they can withstand a lot of abuse and hold up pretty well. They're a bit narrow for an AFO, but for a foot I'm sure they're more than good. Removing the insoles makes them more comfortable for AFOs. Obviously I've ordered them more than once and will continue to do so because I haven't found anything that fits better than AFO with my son's tight ankle. There's a lot to be said for the convenience of dressing and closing each morning.
