This is a good control/user interface for your Outback Power devices. I haven't had much trouble replacing my Mate2 with this Mate3 - just unplug the old one and plug in the new one (and don't forget to reprogram all the Mate features - your inverter, charge controller, etc. will remain). The UI is a little clunky, but it works. The device has a built-in web server that you can access from your private intranet: it looks like you can only use it to view the status and settings. Unfortunately, you'll have to use the device's physical interface to change settings -- or if you want to trust a third-party site, you can enable OpticsRE to view status and change settings over the public internet. (If you are a determined and skilled programmer, you can get an API from Outback Power to query the status and change settings from the app/program.)
