Great monitor for working from home. Don't listen to nitpicks' complaints, read below

As many of you are reading this. I work from home a lot more, so I wanted to improve my settings. I already have an amazing $1200 ultra wide gaming monitor but trying to use it for work, constantly switching to my work laptop etc has been an utter pain. I wanted to set up a separate home office workplace that would be dedicated. I did a lot of research to find a good, reliable, and good quality ultrawide computer to work from home. For PC performance only. I started looking for really cheap options in the $200-$300 price range. They all seemed to have many problems. Many were only 1080p, weren't IPS panels, had compromised brightness and color that were easy to see, and cheap builds. And lots of stories about bad quality and problems and returns. You get what you pay for. And considering this is a monitor I'd be staring at for quite a while, I didn't want to skimp too much and get frustrated with the degraded image quality and other issues. So I decided to see what would get me around $500. . And after a long search, I decided on this 34-inch HP. It's a high quality ultra wide angle monitor with the features you need to be productive from home. Bright, crisp, crisp text (don't worry about documents, spreadsheets, etc.), vivid colors. Easy to set up. Excellent connection. I had no dead pixels. Well packed. Sturdy construction that looks premium. Comes with all types of cables included! Mini Displayport, HDMI and USB. That's very pleasant. If you're looking for a monitor to work from home with, this is the perfect choice. You will love it. It looks great/modern, thin bezel around the edges. Beautiful design. Great for working with mega spreadsheets, having multiple windows open at the same time, etc. Also good for watching movies if you want. It's an IPS panel, which means vivid colors, good dark/light contrast, and good viewing angles. It's QHD too, so text is crisp. And a 1440p resolution means you'll have enough room to open multiple windows and still be crystal clear. If you're looking for a monitor for hardcore PC gaming, this might not be the one for you. Check out real gaming monitors from ASUS, Alienware, etc. You can game on this monitor and you'll love it, but it's not the best spec for that. So if you're an avid gamer with extremely high standards, look elsewhere and expect to spend at least twice that price. If you are a PC gamer. It is FreeSync compatible. So if you have an AMD graphics card, it will offer you a crisp gaming experience that should be fine for most people except serious gamers who delve deep into each spec and notice everything. If you have an nVidia graphics card, this monitor will not give you G-Sync compatibility; So if that's what you want, don't buy this monitor. As for complaints. People complain that it doesn't have built-in speakers. Really? who doesn't use a headset or external speakers anyway. I've never used the monitor's internal speakers. When they're on, they're usually crap. This is no reason to avoid this monitor. In fact, I'm glad they dropped the speakers to keep costs down. Also, you'll see complaints that this monitor doesn't have a long list of very detailed settings for its color etc. Well, if you are a professional designer and you need a professional monitor then buy it. The color accuracy of this monitor is excellent. 99% of the population will be delighted. Also criticized that the monitor does not slide up to adjust the height, does not rotate. There is only forward and backward tilt. Again, I see no reason to throw this monitor away. Ergonomically, it sits at the perfect height on your desk. The stand is strong and stable. Honestly, what would I do with a lot more adjustment options? HP has spent money where it matters - the picture is fantastic and the performance is good. Some also complain that it doesn't have 10 USB ports. Really? Buy a USB hub, they're not expensive. This is a monitor. This monitor costs around $450 and is amazing value. If you're looking for a super-sharp and bright 34-inch ultra-wide screen to work from home that also looks great on your desk, this is a real winner. If you want to be picky and complain that it doesn't have the same features as monitors that cost 2-3 times the price, then dig out your wallet and buy one of these other monitors. This monitor is a fantastic deal for what it offers you. Good looks, build quality, great for working from home

Pros
  • Great size for my table. Allows me to have multiple windows and programs at the same time.
Cons
  • After a month, the screen started flickering non-stop. What a waste. It wasn't cheap.
