These hoods are more flexible and thinner than the original hoods. Exterior design is great, interior design is flawed. The caps do not fully seat and do not remain in contact with the rim. The simple metal ring (smaller than the stock ring) used to tension the locking clips, while fairly flimsy, sits in the straight path of the tire stem and prevents the hubcap from seating properly. I'm sure (because a proper fit is simply impossible) that in the future I will arrive at any destination without a hubcap. There is a recess for the valve stem, but that's not enough. The metal tension ring rises up the stem regardless of whether it is in front or behind the stem. Due to the poor design of the retaining clips and the lightweight metal ring, I always arrive at my destination with ALL four caps. shows a 6-8 mm (1/4-5/16 inch) gap between the cap and the rim. There are 3 possible tension levels with this clip/ring tensioning system and in anticipation of problems I used a medium setting on the half and a heavy setting on the other half. (15" rims) Alternate tension settings had no effect on the hub cap "slipping" off the rim. In contrast, my original hubcaps ALWAYS fit snugly on the tire rim and require careful and precise removal with tools while I can pry them off. easily removed with your fingers (without tools). At the same time I bought some 14 inch (also PILOT brand) for my Toyota daughters and the results are identical to their hubcaps, this is a design flaw. Please note that in the picture the cutout for the tire bar is clearly in the wrong place, it should be where there is a large gap between the clamps. These hubcaps look beautiful, I will miss them when they fall off.
