Review on Cooling YnM Bamboo Weighted Blanket — 100% Cooling for Optimal Sleep Experience by John Castle

Like something so thin, so hot?

I bought a Seagrass Bamboo Quilt, size 60x80, 15 lbs. I'm a petite woman at 110lbs but I was expecting it to be a lot bulkier and heavier. I think I might try lifting a weight or two if it wasn't for the heat. My main problem is that I kept waking up from overheating, which is very unusual for me. I'm not a fan of hot sleep and even bought their version of the "cooler stuff". Current weather is in the 50's at night. It should be the couple of layers they have inside that hold the beads. It seems that the blanket does not breathe at all and therefore retains heat. I'm assuming these layers are synthetic and therefore not breathable. The only breathable fabric is the outer dye. I would really like a natural material inside (cotton, bamboo, hemp) and then a blanket could be added during the winter months. I really liked the outer fabric. It was silky and soft. The color of the seaweed was a nice shade of blue-green, but not too bright. I would definitely save (and possibly weight) if it wasn't for the heat trapping feature. I'll look around for other better materials.
