Used to repair a small electric circulator motor in a dishwasher

Purchased to replace a set of steel bearings in a dishwasher circulator pump. The originals were made in Japan, 608z. The engine was only 18 months old and cost $125; I decided to try replacing the bearing this time. Machine tolerances are pretty good. The bore was probably a hair (a few thousandths of a millimeter at most) larger than the 608z steel originals. I can say this because the original 608z required a bearing puller to remove and they could slide down the motor shaft with a couple of hits with a small hammer. Perhaps the runout was better than expected from a bearing designed for the skateboard market. 5mm maximum as it's almost impossible to find real performance when the product can also be used for non-critical applications like spinners. (Original steel bearings were also about equal to 0.5mm, I guess). Freewheel times were excellent until, of course, the covers popped out and a small amount of bearing grease was applied. All bearings require lubrication with the exception of all ceramic bearings, but these too can be lubricated in this application. The oil caps on these discs were made of what appeared to be stainless steel, a fairly hard material covered in red rubber on the outside. The balls inside are white and denote the zircon base. The cell is translucent brown of unknown composition, but appears to be fine so far. Let's see if the red bearing grease I applied will start corroding the cage over time. Research shows that I can expect these to last at least three times the life of steel in a small dishwasher, and given that Japanese 608z steel has only lasted 18 months, that equates to 120 hours of continuous use at best, which seems flimsy to me an expensive part that is so important to this household. Will install this in the dishwasher and check again in about 6 months if this list still exists. So far I'm very impressed considering the target market is mostly weirdos and I can't find a video of a person pressing in a ceramic bearing to fix any type of motor, but it ran very smoothly. Bye: Thanks for taking a good bearing with a decent tolerance.
