Sound quality was tinny when using cassette tape, possibly because there was only one speaker. The tuning disc got stuck and had to be moved.

I'm buying this for my 89 year old beautiful mom for her birthday. She loves music and still has cassettes. Well she loves it.

If you want to listen to the tape recorder with headphones, forget it. Even at maximum volume, the sound coming out of the headphone jack is barely audible. Very disappointing as the rest of the phone is pretty well made.

This dump destroyed 3 cassette tapes that used to belong to a recently deceased grandmother. From the looks of it, the tapes themselves were in excellent condition prior to being used in this unit. Not impressed. sending a refund.

I bought this because my husband who died a month ago was a singer and I just got the cassettes from the warehouse. I thought it would be ideal to watch the recordings and burn them onto CDs later, this particular recording was my favorite because my husband and I were singing in our band at the time. Victrola ate it so badly I had to take it to a pro, shame they had to splice it. I hope that at least some of them will be returned to me.

I buy to play cassettes. My cassettes play fine in my car radio but the first cassette I played on this Victrola was chewed through by this cassette player. When in doubt, I tried playing a different cassette. It worked, but when I flip the tape to play side 2, the play button reappears like it can't play side 2. That's when I noticed that the eject button sometimes didn't work and the cassette compartment wouldn't open.

Sound just ok not great. This is an inexpensive single speaker deal, that's to be expected. It's small, but I'm giving it one star for portability simply because it requires D batteries or a cord and outlet - no way to charge. I love the size and spaciousness of this radio. Good for intimate small rooms with audio projection; as a cozy living room, kitchen or bedroom. Of course, it's not as loud as other portable speakers for big parties! The radio tuning knob is a little tricky to find the exact radio station, but I'm used to that old fashioned style of turning the knob until the radio is clear of all the clutter!
