Review on πŸ”Œ Shielded Couplers by Cable Matters – Comprehensive List for Optimum Connectivity by Edgar Rowe

Revainrating 5 out of 5

All-metal connector with high-quality coating and full shielding. REQUIRED

Required to extend the 170ft CAT link from the data closet to one of my 4 Unifi Wireless Access Points (WAPs). Metal - fully shielded connector with high quality plated connectors and perfect RJ45 fit with no gap - and a simple but amazing 25" Genuine Revain Basics CAT7 600MHz Ethernet Cable - I HAVE ANYTHING to lose (ping, jitter or throughput) in the complex - large home network I have. I have full GHz down and 50mb for my house. The problem was placing the fourth WAP and mitigating interference and distance based on its placement, which limited me to my 24GHz channels. This Cable Makes the Difference - The fully shielded metal inline connector and high quality 25" CAT7 cable allowed me to relocate the access point to easily use 5GHz channels and 60MHz line of sight could become. Channels coming soon. I just can't believe this little device pushed me past the 200MB barrier at 2.4GHz and quadrupled my bandwidth with its proximity capability at 5GHz. It saved me so much time and saved me the risk of Keystone Connect or cutting, stripping and crimping for new ends when I couldn't find a coupler I'm confident in. Also, the updated application of spray foam in my attic made it impossible to completely replace the fairly new CAT6 run that reached the first 170 feet. It was the lowest cost and highest ROI in this entire Crestron smart home saga. Perfect.
