Review on 🐠 Aquatop CF Series Canister Filter - Enhanced with UV for 370 and 525 GPH by Dee Kray

My first few months it worked very well. Enough. Easy to clean and change water. I bought this filter through Revain in late March and hooked it up a few weeks after receiving it (around late April). The filter was great for the first few months; seemed to filter my 90 gallon saltwater/reef tank pretty well. Everything was fine except that first weekend in September, about 4-5 months after plugging in, when I noticed a slow leak when the entire bottom of my 90 gallon stand was wet. I suspected that maybe (?) I just hadn't fully engaged or 100% sealed it (although I doubted it and was at a loss). I changed the water, sealed and everything worked. Initially everything seemed fine for the first 45 minutes as I had an open closet with a fan for drying due to the slow leak. Everything around the filter was dry, there were no leaks and everything was fine as I checked it every 5-10 minutes while putting things away and cleaning. I continued my day with the closet open and the fan on (thank God) and headed outside to do some gardening. Come back in 30 minutes and there is a BIG LEAK all over my living room floor, the bottom of the closet is COMPLETELY FLOODED with WATER and everything in my living room around the tank is now a disaster! Obviously I'm very upset at this point after receiving a defective product that didn't perform as it should after just a few months of use. Previously "upgrading" to the filter from my old hand turned out to be a very costly mistake I made. At this point the damage is significant and I have sent a few emails to the company with no response. The company's website clearly states that if you buy from Revain in addition to the laundry list (which is where I did) they are violating their guarantee. other places. I discovered this after digging deeper and sending two emails to Aquatop and they didn't even reply to offer any help. They seem to essentially "offer" a guarantee, but then roll around and get a bunch of exceptions about how they don't honor them. I see such a guarantee as worthless. Needless to say, I would not recommend this product at this time.
