Review on High-Speed USB 3.1 Gen 2 Expansion Card with Type A+Type C Ports for Windows & Linux - Asmedia Chipset, 10 Gbps Transfer Rate by Alex May

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Maybe not 10GB, but .

Well, I'm not seeing 10Gbps, but I won't complain - it's pretty fast (SSD at 385MB/s, no issues with max transfer rates on WD Reds). Performance: I don't have the horsepower to drive other USB PCIe cards as many require so much power - so that was a big plus for me. The drives are powered externally and this little card does a great job of keeping the drives running. * NIX shows this as a 10 Gigabit interface. Basically it was "plug and play". I didn't have to do anything to make this work with Proxmox. Connected to a Mediasonic USB 3.1 cage. I haven't tried connecting to both USB ports on the card - that will likely be later. I expect my throughput to drop as each port is used. However, a good card is much cheaper than a high quality 10 Gigabit iSCSI fiber card.
