The fabric has some stretch. On the inside there is a shiny coating that does not let sweat or light rain penetrate. The band is strong and elastic, so it keeps its shape for a long time with normal wear. I use it for my bariatric vitamins. It fits into a 2-3/4"(L) x 2"(W) x 5/8"(H) soft flexible pill pouch. No problem storing cash with keys and keychains as well as multiple credit cards.
