Actually they are quite faint. The result is definitely overrated. I'm using one of the 52VE Bike batteries and it works but it's not very bright. It was intended to replace the Light & Motion TAZ800 bike light (800 lumens). Compared to the TAZ, it's significantly dimmer than the 800 lumens and slightly brighter than the Taz's "low" (200 lumens) setting, but definitely dimmer than the 400 lumens setting. 3 stars. The central hotspot is good enough for driving at night, it's a decent radiation pattern but definitely not as bright as I was hoping. Also, it's unlikely to be very waterproof. There is no rubber gasket and there is an open drain hole at the bottom of the lantern. There's nothing there but a simple circuit board, so basically it might be fine.
