Review on ๐Ÿ’ง Camco 20222: Brass Connector Stainless Steel Shutoff Valve with Easy Grip Handles โ€“ Connects to Standard Water Hose Effortlessly by Bob Schultz

Revainrating 1 out of 5

VERY badly done. Broke after less than 12 uses!

A little over a month ago I decided to buy a pair of dividers for my two tube bibs. I have wetting hoses as well as regular garden hoses and I want to stop changing them all the time. Connector: Gilmour 13 brass 2-way connector. Someone on the Gilmour review sites preferred Gilmour. I doubted it, but ordered both anyway. It must have been a Camco factory ;-). Or maybe he was testing an earlier version because that Camco is inferior to Gilmour, and that's pretty obvious I think. I've had them long enough to cancel the return and the camco was already broken. It's a cheaply made, HORRIBLE design and one of the rubber open/close levers broke today after maybe a dozen (if any) uses. If I could post pictures I would show the flimsy design. GARBAGE. Do not buy. The Gilmour seems much stronger and I am ordering another one just like that. While time will tell how long the Gilmour will last, it's clear that it's better built than the Camco. I don't understand how these things could get a 5 star rating - they must be older models that are better constructed or they will not be used. My strong recommendation is NOT to buy this. Alternatively, try Gilmour 13. UPDATE: I took a closer look before throwing it in the trash. The broken part may actually be made of brass, but it is molded so thin that it is visible that it does not withstand any pressure when the (rubber) lever is turned. Anyway, the 2nd Gilmore has arrived and is working at least for now.

Pros
  • Easy to use and durable
Cons
  • Almost never
